The Nag Tibba trek is a short and easy weekend trek to Nag Tibba (Serpent’s Peak) near Mussorrie. At over 3000 meters it is the highest peak in the Nag Tibba range of Garhwal Himalayas. Nag Tibba Trek is an ideal weekend trek which can easily covered over any extended weekend.


Given its simple level of test, anybody with a typical wellness can do this trek. The trek offers a portion of the best outdoors areas. The course experiences thick deodar timberland. With just a day into the trek one ranges to exceptionally remote area with no home. An incredible refresher and trailer for new trekkers who are yet to see the full film of a long trek.


The total distance is 16 kms.



Day 1
Reach Pantwari via Dehradun and Trek to Nag Tibba temple campsite.
  • Day one would introduce you to the Garhwal Himalayas as you would be leaving the Doon valley to enter the brilliant Shivalik Mountains. So reach Dehradun early in the morning as there are numerous trains that leave the New Delhi Railway station at about midnight for a 5-6 hours’ train ride. Your pickup will be arranged at Dehradun Railway station right in the morning as you’d be hiring a jeep on a sharing basis. The drive would take you past the beautiful hill station of Mussoorie to Pantwari village, the starting point ofNag Tibba Trek. As you reach this site, a bit of warm up would be good enough to brace you for a short first-day trek to Nag TibbaTemple. Here, you’ll be fixing your camp and some evening bonfire would give you warm offerings amid chilling weather.
Day 2
Nag Tibba temple to the summit of Nag Tibba and return to Pantwari and drive back to Delhi
  • Wake up early as this is a concluding day. Some early morning warm up and breakfast would charge you for this hectic day that involves hike to the summit of Nag Tibba and back to Campsite and then you will be heading towards Pantwari after lunch and back to Dehradun. Nag Tibba sits over 3000 meters and is a vantage point for some of majestic views of numerous Himalayan jewels like Bandarpoonch, Swargarohini, Gangotri ranges, Kalanag etc. To reach the top of Nag Tibba, you will be trekking a distance of 3km and then back to Nagtibba campsite. You would be arriving back to campsite by noon where you will be having lunch and then leaving back to Pantwari. We will be heading to Pantwari after having snacks.Vehicle will be arranged at Pantwari and reach Dehradun by late evening and than to Delhi.
Day 3
Reach Delhi.
  • Reach Delhi by 4 Am

As we gain higher altitude, the air becomes thinner. To overcome this we need to develop our aerobic
fitness. The more fitter you are, you will enjoy more during the trek.
Difficulty- Easy- Moderate.

1) For cardiovascular endurance, begin jogging atleast 1 month before the trek.

2) For strength do squats, push ups.

Fitness Bechmark: Jog/Run for 3 Kms in 30 mins.

Remember always start your training program with stretching and warm up exercises.




Basic necessities:
1) Trekking shoes(preferably high ankle).
2) Rucksack(40-60 litres).
3) Rain cover.
4) 2 water bottles.
5) Torch with spare batteries.
6) A trekking pole.
7) Glucose, Chocolates, biscuits and nuts
8) Original ID card.
9) Personal medical kit(if required).

The base camp to Nag tibba trek is Pantwari. The entire drive from Dehradun to
Pantwari takes around 4 Hours.


By road:
Dehradun is well connected with comfortable Volvo buses run by government and
private operators. You can catch luxury and normal buses to Dehradun which are
available from ISBT Kashmiri Gate and Anand Vihar.

By Rail:
Nearest railway station to Pantwari is Dehradun. Dehradun is well connected by railway
network with major destinations of India. There are many trains which runs between
New Delhi and Dehradun. Some of them are DEHRADUN SHTBDI, DEHRADUN


By Flight:
The nearest airport to Sankri is Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun.
